Long Haul.

We made it. The road felt like a never-ending corridor where you could see your destination, but never quite reach it. Admittedly we had stopped for a few breaks... Mcdonalds has even cemented its foothold in the depths of the Australian country side. Despite the feelings of ceaselessness brought on by our 6 hour trek down Eastern Australia, like all trips, we ended up where we planned to be; But of course, my friend google maps was the deciding factor on whether or not we got there without a hitch.

With four tall and equally large men in the car, with luggage to boot, space was a precious commodity we all fought for. Like all friends, we ripped into each other without end and made sure that whoever managed to weasel themselves extra room would do so for but only a brief moment. The only thing that quelled our fight for extra leg-room was the music, it was interesting listening to all of our favourite songs and seeing the reactions that each of us had to each-others music. Interestingly enough there was never an argument over who should play what, as it seems no matter the genre of music playing we were all more than happy to listen, groove or even sing our hearts out. If I were a passing vehicle I more than likely would have mistaken my band of friends for an unrehearsed panicking choir or maybe a mental asylum transport, either would seem equally possible.

Like all road trips with friends food is only bought to satisfy the soul, not our nutritional needs. So as you, my reader, could probably imagine our car was full of chips, Coca Cola and all those other delightful junk foods with our pitstops being at either Mcdonalds or a petrol station that sold meat pies. We definitely aren't the healthiest bunch.

The relief upon arrival was something to behold, imagine four extremely restless cows that needed to kick their legs and rear their heads to stretch. That was us. Once we had finished our stretching unpacking and other necessary tasks before we could relax, we flopped like large hairy pancakes onto the lounge. Little did we know that where we chose to sit in that moment became our self-assigned seat for what I assume will be the rest of our stay.

A word from the writer.
