Happy New Year to you all.
The clocks have ticked over, calendars made anew and hangovers had. 2018 has arrived and with it a whole new years worth of success, tribulations, blood sweat and tears but we'll never know what the future may hold for us all. Now in the full swing of work I feel more like my own person than ever before. I mean not having to rely on the magic money fountains known as your parents wallet, is much better than what one would think. But with the new year once again bringing up thoughts of my future, I've come to realise that this is my last year of being considered a teen, something I find quite daunting and exciting in one confusing ball of emotion. Until university takes hold of my life in seven weeks time I aim to accrue as much funds as I possibly can, to power me through the year. This being said, I spend the majority of my time taking shifts at work and having a good time, rather than my old habits of wasting my time being unproductive.
As with the majority of the world, I too have decided on a new years resolution. As cliche as it may sound... This resolution being that I aim to surround myself with people who bring out the best in me and vice versa, surrounding oneself with positive influences can only lead to a positive outcome. Well at least thats how I think of it.
As much as I've been working, this week surprisingly was spent on the likes of a houseboat. Now you're probably reading this thinking, "How could you possibly work as a delivery boy from a house boat." it's as convoluted as you'd think. So on Monday my dad had decided that we were to be set adrift down stream from where we live, on a houseboat of course, but due to my work schedule obviously that was not going to happen... for me at least. Despite the obvious flaw in my fathers plan, I reluctantly went on this aged paint peeled vessel, with a surprisingly well-furnished interior and was told that for work I was to ride the family Jet-ski back home from wherever this houseboat would eventually end up. The Jet-ski was the selling point that made this offer oh so sweet. I accepted and spent the entirety of the week travelling back and forth at speeds of up to 120kmph just to go to and from work. Needless to say, this week was much faster paced than I had originally thought, and brought a splash of excitement to the start of my new year. With that being said, I hope you all had an enjoyable first week of the year as well.
